FloorScore Certification
The most recognized indoor Air Quality Certification for flooring.
What Does FloorScore® Certification Represent?
FloorScore® is the leading indoor air quality (IAQ) certification for hard surface flooring materials, adhesives, and underlayments. It is a voluntary, independent certification program that evaluates and certifies these products to ensure they meet the stringent indoor air emissions standards for Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) as set by California, due to their potential health impacts. Products that achieve FloorScore® certification comply with the indoor air quality criteria of major green building standards, including LEED, LEED v4.1, WELL, BREEAM, CHPS, and Green Globes, and are recognized by numerous other healthy building programs.
Certified Products:
We have achieved FloorScore certification for the following three product lines:
- Massif Construction
- 2-Ply Engineered Construction
Why is this Certification Important?
- Absence of Formaldehyde: Although we have always known that our products do not emit formaldehyde, the FloorScore certification officially confirms this, ensuring our customers that our products are safe for their health.
- Robust Quality System: FloorScore attests to our strong quality management, including:
- Effective problem identification and resolution.
- Excellent traceability system.
- Ability to quickly isolate defective products.
- Ongoing commitment to improving our processes.
Why Everyone Should Prioritize Indoor Air Quality
Indoor air quality (IAQ) is crucial because most people spend about 90% of their time indoors. If the air you’re breathing is of poor quality, you may be at an increased risk for various health issues, ranging from headaches and dizziness to more severe long-term conditions. While FloorScore certification is particularly recognized in the North American flooring industry, it has global significance and offers a competitive edge, especially in building classification programs like LEED.
What Does FloorScore Certification Mean for Your Family?
Nowadays, many people are aware of the potential health risks associated with everyday products and try to avoid them when possible. Flooring is no exception, yet the dangers posed by chemical emissions from certain flooring materials are often overlooked. Fortunately, certifications like FloorScore ensure that flooring products are not only stylish and durable but also safe and healthy for your family.
